Booking terms

Last updated: August 2026

These are the terms for booking and using The Oche Room, run by [your name] trading as The Oche Room, [address], Leeds ("we", "us"). They're written in plain English on purpose. By making a booking, you're agreeing to them.

1. How booking works

2. Cancellations and rescheduling

Our cancellation policy
  • 48 hours' notice or more: full refund, or move to any available slot — your choice.
  • Between 24 and 48 hours: no refund, but we'll happily move your booking to another available slot or give you a credit to use within 3 months.
  • Less than 24 hours, or no-show: no refund.

Life happens — if you need to cancel late because of a genuine emergency, get in touch and we'll always try to be reasonable.

If we have to cancel (for example, illness or an equipment failure we can't work around), we'll tell you as soon as possible and you'll get a full refund or a rebooking, whichever you prefer. That refund is the limit of what we owe you for a cancelled session.

A note on your online purchase rights: because a booking is a leisure service for a specific date, the usual 14-day "cooling off" cancellation right for online purchases doesn't apply (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Our policy above applies instead. This doesn't affect your other statutory rights.

3. Your session

4. Safety and behaviour

Darts are sharp and thrown hard — the house rules exist to keep everyone safe, and they're a condition of your booking:

We reserve the right to end a session early, without refund, if behaviour is dangerous, or abusive to the host or other users of the building. We'd genuinely rather never use this clause.

5. Damage and lost property

Normal wear and tear — stray darts marking the surround, the odd broken flight — is completely expected and on us. Deliberate or reckless damage to the room, the scoring equipment, or the building is chargeable at the reasonable cost of repair or replacement. Any lost property we find will be kept for one month.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded. Beyond that, darts is an activity with inherent risks; you take part at your own risk to the extent that any injury results from your own or your group's failure to follow the house rules or your host's instructions. We're not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings brought into the venue, or for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of something we did wrong. Our total liability in connection with a booking is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the first sentence of this section applies.

7. Your information

We use your details only to run your booking — the full story is in our privacy notice.

8. The boring-but-necessary bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we update these terms, the version in force when you booked is the one that applies to your booking.

Questions about any of this? Just email hello@theocheroom.co.uk — a human (the same one who'll hand you your darts) will reply.
