Privacy notice

Last updated: August 2026

The Oche Room is a small, independently run darts room in Leeds. This notice explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what we need to run your booking, we never sell your information, and we don't send marketing unless you've asked for it.

Who we are

The Oche Room is run by [your name], trading as The Oche Room, [address], Leeds. If you have any questions about this notice or your information, email hello@theocheroom.co.uk.

What we collect and why

When you request a booking through our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), group size and requested slot. We use this to hold your slot, confirm your booking, send your payment link, and contact you about your session. The legal basis for this is that it's necessary to provide the service you've asked for (in the jargon: performance of a contract).

Our booking form also records basic technical information (such as your IP address) purely to prevent spam and abuse of the form. That's in our legitimate interest of keeping the booking system working for everyone.

News and offers (only if you ask)

The booking form has an optional, unticked box for occasional news and offers from us. If you tick it, we keep your name and email on a marketing list and email you now and then — we aim for "occasional" in the true sense. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "unsubscribe" to any of our emails or contacting us, and we'll remove you straight away. We never share the marketing list with anyone. The legal basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw whenever you like. Members' details are also used to run the membership itself (that's performance of a contract, same as bookings).

Payments

Payments are taken through SumUp, a regulated payment provider. When you pay via our payment link or at our counter, your card details go directly to SumUp — we never see or store your card number. SumUp processes your payment data under its own privacy policy, available on its website.

Where your information lives and how long we keep it

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business: our website host (Fasthosts), our email provider, and SumUp for payments. We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics. The website loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font file from Google's servers when the page loads.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we're using it. Just email hello@theocheroom.co.uk — for a business our size, these requests are usually sorted the same day.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information and we haven't put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
